Do I Need A Doctor’s Referral Before Starting Physiotherapy?
You do not need a referral as a private patient. Physiotherapists are primary care clinicians qualified and skilled in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, as a result physiotherapists are experienced in being the primary point of contact for musculoskeletal conditions assessing, providing treatment for as well as developing any overall necessary management plans for musculoskeletal complaints.
You do however need a current doctors referral if you are claiming under WorkCover, CTP (motor vehicles scheme), Veterans Affairs or the Medicare chronic disease management plan schemes (EPC). Please ensure you have the correct cover before attending your appointment or normal fees will apply. For all EPC and WorkCover appointments we will require payment details in advance as you will be charged for any appointments you do not attend.
I have an EPC from my Doctor what do I do?
An EPC is provided by your doctor. Please advise reception at time of booking that your appointment will be an EPC. Your paperwork must be current and must be provided at your first appointment. You are eligible for up to 5 sessions per year.
We will bulk bill EPC appointments and not charge a gap, as long as you agree to and meet our terms and conditions:
- You must advise the clinic at the time of booking that your appointment is an EPC.
- You must provide payment/card details in advance but will not be charged unless you do not attend your appointment or give us 24 hours notice of a change.
- We will determine the physiotherapist who will treat you, your referral may have a certain physio on the documentation but it is valid for any physiotherapist in our clinic. You can also bring a referral for physiotherapy that has been made out to another physiotherapist or physio clinic.

I have an EPC referral from my doctor but it is not made out to Woopi Physio, can I still use it?
Yes you can, as long as the referral is for physiotherapy you can use it in our clinic and don’t forget we don’t charge a gap, so you are saving approximately $40 per session. If you are booking an EPC appointment, please advise reception at time of booking. You must have current EPC paperwork from your doctor to be eligible. We also require payment/card details in advance for all EPC appointments. You will not be charged if you attend your appointment, charges will only apply if you fail to attend without giving 24 hours notice (DNA). Full details available at the clinic.

Do I need to live locally to come to your clinic?
No we see clients from all areas of the Northern Beaches, Coffs Coast and Clarence Valley. We are only a short drive away from Coffs Harbour, Grafton, South Grafton, Wooli, Minnie Water, Tucabia, Maclean, Sawtell, Toormina, Boambee, Urunga, Bellingen, Valla, Nambucca Heads, Repton, Raleigh, Mylestom, Bonville, Korora, Sapphire, Sandy Beach, Emerald Beach, Woolgoolga, Arrawarra Headland, Safety Beach, Mullaway, Arrawarra, and Red Rock.
What is your cancellation policy?
If for any reason you are running late for an appointment, please call us to let us know. Our cancellation policy is 24 hours notice, so if you are unable to make your appointment please call or email the day before to avoid incurring any cancellation charges.
Please note that if you have an EPC doctors referral or workcover patient, then we require payment/card details in advance, you will not be charged if you attend your appointment, charges will only apply if you DNA (Do Not Attend).

We may use contact information you provide to offer SMS or e-mail appointment reminders as well as from time to time any clinic promotions or relevant clinic information.
